tPanel is a Sydney software development company. We are based here — not a national brand with a Sydney phone number — and we build custom systems for businesses across the metro area and the Blue Mountains corridor.
That matters mostly for one reason: discovery works better in person when the process you want to fix involves a physical place. A warehouse floor, a workshop, a service counter, a job site. You can describe those on a call, but watching them is faster and more accurate.
Where We Work Across Sydney
We travel for discovery sessions across greater Sydney at no extra cost. In practice most work clusters in a few areas:
- CBD and inner suburbs — professional services, finance, agencies. Usually CRM, client portals and reporting systems.
- Parramatta and Western Sydney — a growing share of our work. Trades, logistics, healthcare and services businesses with real operational complexity and, often, no dedicated IT staff.
- Penrith and the Nepean corridor — smaller operators where the honest answer is often a single automation rather than a full system.
- North Shore and Northern Beaches — professional practices and product businesses.
- South and South-West Sydney — manufacturing, distribution and trades, where the useful work is usually connecting a quoting or job system to accounting.
If you are outside these areas but still in NSW, we still work with you — remotely, or with a longer trip for the first session if the process warrants it.
What Sydney Businesses Ask Us For
The mix here skews towards client-facing and compliance-heavy work, which reflects the city’s industry base more than any preference of ours.
Custom CRM
The most common request. Usually because an off-the-shelf CRM cannot express how the business actually assigns, qualifies or prices work — territory rules, licence types, referral sources, multi-office ownership.
Internal systems and portals
Approval workflows, staff portals and operations dashboards for teams that have outgrown a shared spreadsheet but do not need an enterprise platform.
Integration work
Connecting a job or quoting system to Xero, a CRM to a website, or a supplier feed to an internal database — removing the daily re-keying that nobody budgeted for.
Field and mobile apps
For teams doing the work away from a desk: site inspections, job sign-off, photo capture, offline data entry.
What It Costs
Same pricing wherever you are in Australia — being in Sydney does not make it more expensive, and being outside it does not make it cheaper:
- Single workflow or automation: A$3,000–6,000
- Focused business system: A$12,000–45,000
- Multi-module platform: A$50,000+, delivered in stages
- Support: fixed A$1,000/month, not per seat
Scoping is fixed-price before development starts, so the number you approve is the number you pay. Full breakdown by project type: custom software cost in Australia.
Before You Enquire
Two things worth knowing, because they save everyone time.
We will tell you if you should buy a product instead. If your process is close to standard, an off-the-shelf tool is cheaper and works immediately. We say this often enough that it is worth stating upfront rather than discovering it in week three.
Being local is not automatically the deciding factor. Offshore development is genuinely cheaper per hour. What you get locally is a shorter feedback loop, an aligned time zone, Australian consumer and privacy law by default, and someone who can be in the room when a process is hard to explain. Whether that is worth the difference depends on the project — the cost guide covers the onshore-versus-offshore trade-off honestly.

FAQ
Does tPanel have an office in Sydney?
Yes. tPanel Solution is a Sydney-based company (ABN 40 167 463 854), operating since 2014. Discovery sessions across greater Sydney are done in person where that is useful; the build work itself runs the same way regardless of location.
Do you travel to Parramatta, Penrith or Western Sydney?
Yes, at no extra cost. A meaningful share of our work is in Western Sydney, and for processes that involve a warehouse, workshop or service counter, seeing the site is usually worth the trip.
How much does custom software development cost in Sydney?
The same as anywhere in Australia: A$3,000 to A$6,000 for a single workflow, A$12,000 to A$45,000 for a focused business system, A$50,000 and above for a multi-module platform. Support is a fixed A$1,000 per month rather than per seat.
How long before we see something working?
For a focused system, typically 6 to 12 weeks to a first usable version. Projects are staged deliberately so the team is using something real before the whole scope is finished.
Can you work with our existing systems rather than replacing them?
Usually that is the better answer. Most projects involve connecting to Xero, an existing CRM, a supplier portal or an internal database rather than replacing a working tool.
